“On the fifth anniversary of his sister's death, Jonny Dart, now nineteen, is still plagued by remorse and an erroneous memory of the accident that claimed her life. He seeks his sister's best friend, the only other witness to the terrible occurrence. Instead of getting the answers he seeks, he encounters Sophie, an elderly woman suffering from Alzheimer's disease. Sophie lives in a posh neighborhood with several cats. But he lives in awful filth and has no recollection of recent occurrences. Jonny seeks sanctuary with her as a temporary pariah and labelled "loser." For both of them, the past and present collide in Sophie's house. Their chance encounter transforms their lives.
