   My Memories

In 2015 I was in Kahikatea with Mr Barrow and Mrs  Boswell. There were a lot of good memories that I have had ever since I was in Kahikatea. When the Year 5s and 6s went to camp I couldn't go because I was still in Invercargill at school. When I started sockburn school I started in Kahikatea and I was only 9 years of age and May the 6th 2015 was my first day at Sockburn School.

In 2016 I was still in Kahikatea with Mrs Boswell and Miss Mccormick and now it was my second year at Sockburn School and I am now 11 years of age. This year I have had more fun than last year and my favorite memory was going to the Margaret Mahy playground. This memory was fun because the school got to have a play on the Margaret Mahy playground for 3 hours.  We also got to look around the city as we were walking to our location.

In the 3rd term we went to the museum and the best thing that caught my eye was the rocks and the geodes that hade Amethyst inside. The thing I had hated about the museum was the clothes because their clothes looked like they would be rough on your body but very fancy.

At the end of term 3 we went swimming just after reading. The class took a bus to get to the pool and back but my favorite thing about the pool was getting wet and having fun with my swimming coach. My not so good memory was swimming in my clothes because my bag got soaking wet after I put my clothes in my bag and it was hard to stand and swim.

The last memory of the the year was going to the Canterbury A&P Show and getting free things to fill up my bag of goodies. One of my favorite free things was the eyeballs because you could play a whole bunch of games. My not so favorite thing was getting the posters because all you do with the posters is put them on the wall and then you look at them and think how cool they looked on your wall.

I'm leaving Sockburn School with many memories and can’t wait for my next adventures.

Night at the Museum

I am learning to write a narrative about the museum and include a hook and adjectives.

I really liked creating this animation to go with my story because I worked so hard on my story. I also feel like I am getting better at making animations. During the week I thought hard about the adjectives I could use to make my writing stand out.  I hope you enjoy my story.

Here is my original story...

One dark night there was a Museum, not just any ordinary Museum, an abandoned Museum.

There was a mummy... the king of Egypt. It was me, the boss of the sand and ground. I was the one who made Egypt and my name is Rickey the mummy and I am  the one who has the black bandages all over my body. I come from my sarcophagus.

There was a smash and the glass went everywhere. The Maori got free because they weren’t supposed to smash the glass. “You were supposed to go through the vent,” I mumble through my black bandages. Now the police will think that their was a robber that smashed the glass but there was solution. I could get the builder to fix the glass. A few minutes later the builder came to fix the glass.  One minute later there was no sign of glass anywhere at all but it was day time and the time to go back home to my sarcophagus.
