W.A.L.T the past 4 weeks we have been learning about poems's and my favorite poem is a haiku poem because the poem can be based on any thing and it is very easy to make one let me show you the poem I made.   

 The Car is dark black 

The car creates pollution

pollution is bad.

Sunken Forest

The Sunken Forest

 The main charters are Cam, Jay, Matthew smith, Paul, Azura and Lewis Armstrong known as Satch.

Cam is the big bully and his assistant jay. 

Matthew Smith was the hero and he was accused of stealing.

Paul and Azura are Matthew new best friends now.

Lewis Armstrong known as Satch he was a Policeman.

The story took place when the dam broke and cam fell out of the little boat and drown. 

What happened - the main plot first Matthew helped out this old lady and she told Matthew to come in side and and she tried to give Matthew money but eh took food next the money got stolen and they thought it was Matthew. When they went to the camp Matthew meet the eel caled else and Matthew gave the eel food. 6 chapters away the dam broke and cam couldn't swim so he drowned and Matthew saved cams life. Now Matthew is a hero but he was not the one who stole the money it was the Plummer and he got a mettle frome the Police.

The best part of the story was when the dam broke open and cam got saved buy Matthew and that's the best part of the story was that because people accused Matthew of stilling and this whole time he was a good kid it was the other people though he was like his dad.

In 7ld the class have been reading a book caled the sunken forest by dez hunt the book took place when jay and cam were friends. We read the because it helps us to pronounce words that we don't know and the book make it calm down after morning tea. The start of the book is when can and jay are friends and they would always hang out after school until this old lady needed help with puting her rubies out. And then at night the money went missing. This morning the whole of the year 7 cluster came together in 7sh and we watched a movie called the Lorax. The movie was about environmentalism and that's apart of what we are learning about in Kete.

What do you think the movie is telling you? I think that the movie is telling us that it is not alright cutting down trees and every time we cut down a tree we are lossing more oxygen.

What do you think the author is telling us? I think the author is telling us that just for an a invention it is not cool to cut down heaps of trees let alone one tree. 

Can you make a connetion to the movie the Lorax? I Can make a connetion to the movie when I was five I would always break branches of of trees.Every time we litter and cut down trees it is more likly that you are putting peoples life in danger.

Aim: To see if coke explodes when a Mentos lolly is dropped into it using different temperatures and different kinds of coke.

Hypothesis:  I think the Diet coke will be better becaus it has less sugar

Equipment:

Ruler

Beaker

Thermometer

Coke Mentos

Measuring flask

Method:

Stage 1: ( All groups)

1. Add 150ml of coke to a measuring flask
2. Place the flask in the sink.
3. Drop in 1 mentos a watch the effect.

Stage 2: 

Group 1
Test 1

1. Heat up 50ml in a beaker of coke ( Using a thermometer heat it to 75 degrees)
2. Place the beaker ion the sink and add a mentos.

Test 2

1. Add 50 ml of cold diet coke to a beaker
2. Add 5 mentos.
3. Record the hieght it reachs

Group 2
Test 1

1. Heat up 50ml in a beaker of coke ( Using a thermometer heat it to 45 degrees)
2. Place the beaker ion the sink and add a mentos.

Test 2

1. Add 50 ml of cold diet coke to a beaker
2. Add 5 mentos.
3. Record the hieght it reach

Test 1

1. Heat up 50ml in a beaker of coke ( Using a thermometer heat it to 30 degrees)
2. Place the beaker ion the sink and add a mentos.

Test 2

1. Heat up 50ml in a beaker of coke ( Using a thermometer heat it to 15 degrees)
2. Place the beaker ion the sink and add a mentos.

Test 2

1. Add 50 ml of cold diet coke to a beaker
2. Add 5 mentos.
3. Record the height it reach

Findings:

6 mentors lollies where dropped it a bottle of coke. The height of the fountain of coke measured in centimetres. A mentors was crunched and we we dropped into  the coke. this shows no result.

The Scientific Method

The Scientific Method 

Aim: To compare the boiling point of the tap water salt water

Hypothesis: Salt water will torn back in to good water

Equipment:

150 MLS of Tap water 

2 Beakers

Bunsen Burner

 Bunsen Burner Tripod

Heat proof mat

Gauze mat

Thermometer

Method:  

1. Collect your equipment.
2. Attach the Bunsen Burner to a gas tap.
3. Fill up both beakers with water.
4. Add salt to one beaker and mix.
5. Place the beaker with tap water on the tripod.
6. Place the Bunsen Burner on the heat mat underneath.
7. Light the Bunsen Burner and adjust the flame to blue.
8. As it heats up place the thermometer in the beaker of water until it is boiling.
9. Record The Temperature on your blog.

10. Repeat the process for salt water.
